YNOPSISThe Mieco storage, loading, and unloading project consisted of design work for a completely new grassroots storage and handling terminal constructed on the Tenn-Tom Waterway in Aberdeen. Ridge & Associates had complete engineering responsibility for this project, including the following designs:
- above-ground storage tanks,
- truck bottom loading rack,
- barge unloading dock,
- vapor combustion unit,
- additive system,
- oil/water separator,
- all related piping,
- all electrical controls.
Additionally, Ridge & Associates developed the plans for all buildings, site work, and project utilities. This facility was constructed on a fast-track design/build basis in conjunction with the project contractor. This enabled the contractor to start construction before all design work was completed. This efficiency allowed the project to be completed on time and within its $2.3 million budget. The project was completed in 1994-95.
